About 16 years ago, I penned an entry into my journal as a little boy about wishing someone would look into my eyes and see that I needed major help and saving from my abusive father. I learned to look the part as a "happy" kid, but I knew if someone would have taken the time to peer deeper into my eyes then, they would be able to see and read what I was really saying.

Of any other song I have ever sung and written, "Read My Eyes" is my favorite. Each song has a special and important place in my heart. This song however is the one I am extremely connected to and always have been. When I started my musical journey in 2008, this was one of the songs I knew I had to find a way to bring to life with music. In 2009, Objectearth had a track that I thought would be perfect and I recorded to that piece. It was a great feeling to do it with him, but months after I did it and once I progressed in my ability to produce, I felt this needed to be re-done.

I wanted a ballad and an arrangement that would be like a story unfolding...sad, emotional, intense...I asked Pops to help me bring this to life once again and he put down a track that fits the bill.

I have only sung one song where I can't even remember the recording session....and that was "Cry". Emotionally, I went to that "place" and just let it go. Forgive me if this sounds like a disclaimer, but this is the most powerful song I have ever done. I cry when I hear it because its my story...its my life.

Put yourself in my shoes and world as you listen: 9 years old, scared, confused...wishing for someone or something to save me from my father's wrath. Close your eyes and listen with your heart...that is where this one came from.
