Formed in 2007 by Dace and Z, Damnation Allies is a two man band that
creates aggressive guitar driven rock which ranges from the emotion of
Say You'll Never Leave Me, to the driving rock of DNA. The combination
of Dace's fluid improvisational lead guitar and Z's hypnotic rhythms
results in music that transcends ordinary rules and soars above and
beyond.
We both write from the heart and soul and let the music speak through
us.
Together we are more than we are as individuals. We think that music
is a journey of exploration. Our music is unique and powerful.
We enjoy creating music in a wide variety of styles. From Space Rock to
Psychedelic Soundscapes, to Electronic Fusion, we embrace it all. The
power of music is universal, and we get great joy from tapping into it
and capturing it, and making it speak for us.
We are currently working on an album titled DNA. Loud, raw, aggressive,
and powerful, It will open your mind to a new sound. TURN IT UP!

{DAM COOL SONG STORY}
"Save the Girl"
One of Z's very good friends was having their birthday party. Z was not able to be there. So being the cool dude he is, he recorded a short B-Day-Song for her. He emailed it to me . I took this song and pitch-shifted it three different times and ways and looped it to make it longer. And we started adding to it. DAM COOL SONG!....With a DAM COOL STORY!
Below in the player you can hear it. THIS! is what this BAND is all about! ENJOY...

THE MAKING OF GOD MACHINE
{ BY: Z }
Just a glimpse behind the process..... but the process varies for
each song. Sometimes Dace starts things off, and sometimes
I do.
How God Machine was created:
1. got the percussion part stuck in my head while trying to
get to sleep
2. went downstairs and programmed it in.
3. thought of a Moog Bass Synth progression to go along with
the percussion, which would be simple and work well as a playground
for Dace's lead guitar part. Added some Flanger to the Bass track.
4. Named it God Machine (no idea why)
5. broke up the percussion sections with 1 bar Moog sound FX,
and yelled 'God Machine' with some space echo over it
6. did a quick mix of the percussion, bass, vox, and FX, and emailed
it to Dace.
7. Got Dace's CRAZY GOOD lead part, and started mixing it in to my
tracks.
8. The words came to me as fast as I could write them down, so I
started recording the vocal parts (2 tracks like I do a lot -- one
track left at about -32 and the other further left with more distortion).
(I often hear lyrics when listening to Dace's guitar parts, or the rhythm
guitar parts)
9. lots of mixing and panning and tweaking. sliding the lead guitar around
so the vocals don't cover it up.
10. added rhythm guitar parts to accentuate the bass progression.
11. mixing and redoing the vocals a little.
12. Final mix! It rocks! Sent to Dace for approval.
13. Posted. Big Smile.
14. Sleep
