Biography

Born in Europe
Raised in Canada
Living in Wa. USA

My technique is laughable at times. I have developed a style of my own, I suppose, which creeps around. I don't have to have too much technique for it. I've developed the parts of my technique that are useful to me. I'll never be a very fast player. I don't really know what to say about my style. There's always a melodic intent in there.

I'm a producer /engineer and songwriter. I use Steinberg, Ableton Live 8,  and occasionally Traction for most of my recordings depending on what the song/s call for and of course my mood!. I've also taught guitar and synthesizer theory. I've won numerous awards at the American Guild of Music and have attended the National Conservatory of Music. Each piece of music created is epic in its construction. Each passage offers the listener deeply layered textures punctuated with melody and beauty. Some have called my style of music.. "soundtrack" perhaps these moments of musicality are just that.. but for the listener.. in the privacy of their own mind.. they opportune to watch the visions of their own creations ... so if this be what it is.. then these songs are music for the movies of the mind.

A very special thank you to some of the various and extremely talented people that have appeared on my works:

Special appearances by KED, Dazed, KOR, Michael Nunley, Warren Peece, Robert Smith, Peter Mercer, RWK, Gina, Wherewolf, Budrumming, Luke Davison, Neil, Rob Grant, Gary Powers, Chris Moore, Kephas, Chris Georgiou. CSK, Peter Tamdog.

This sounds great. I love the nylon string guitar sound. Rob Grant is a great old friend of mine. He is a fantastic musicain. I knew him when his hair was sticking up, Bowie style and mine was down to my waist! HAHA! Really, REALLY nice song! Steve

Dear Gabriel and Ked,
I was able to "just listen" to most of your Listen CD today. Gabe, you certainly are putting all that music theory/structure/production stuff to use on these! Fine job. Many fine and unexpected musical trips in this CD. Powerful keyboard sounds give it a distinct character and Ked, I think your guitar works great on these songs. Nothing simple in this work and it will require several listenings to fully comprehend, but for me that is the sign of a deep, quality work. A major musical accomplishment for both of you.

To me it don't matter how its done, what matters is the out come. And from what I hear right now your way of doing things works, its really a wonder, I could play it often.
You have done a good job on Taking it back,Good voice on Time will Cure us all.
I could go on but,I think you get the Pic...
You just keep turning out good music and we'll just keep playing them and we don't mind how you get it done.

Really enjoyed Midnight at Slumber's Party. The riffs 1:15 + in are monsters. Never saw it coming. The break about 2:40 is insanely good. I am writing this as I listen. This thing is a freakin' monster. Love it. I am 5:11 break. Jeez Louise. What a monster tune. Huge sound. Great stereo spread. I want to get up and form a congo line and dance to it. What a masterpiece. Thanks!!!!

"Journey to the Ancients" - Love that earthy, primal, percussive feel to the opening. It truly invoked the spirit of the "ancients". Nicely done - You already know how I feel about your guitar work. That Amazon jungle vibe at the 2 min. mark was unique (sounded like tape rewind and other FX to mimic that verdant, exotic, aboriginal space. Exciting and interesting work. Somewhere between the Amazon, and a wild wind-swept African savana.

Hi Gabe. White Sky Dark Earth. I love the percussion, it has a Middle East vibe to my ears.Your vocals and lyrics are very interesting on this track. The guitar soars above the clouds throughout! The keys once again add so much space to this track. Funky vibe. I love the breakdown on this track.Again like Take it Back, this track takes me in different directions, but always gets me back home.Cool track once again, and I'll see you again soon. peace RJ

"Time Will Cure Us All" - Very serene and buoyant tune. If I were in suspended animation for a long space-flight, I'd need to be hearing something like this. I've really enjoyed this song. It is peaceful, astral, and you really stretch your sonic palette in lingering, languid tones. Gorgeous production Gabe. Well done. Please stop by my site and let me know your thoughts; I'd truly appreciate your insight.

"Taking it Back" - Gabe, this was beautiful, very nice harmonics and tones. Whatever you want to call your technique is incidental - I'll call it exciting, unique and biting. Guitar really has teeth in it at the 1:30 mark. Very exotic rhythm behind the piece. Reminds of Sting's music as it comes back to the very playful and precise original theme. THis was a beautiful tune. Thanks for posting this one, an excellent production as well.

Hi Gabe. I'm listening to Take It Back again, waiting on Time Will Cure Us All. Ok here we go..Very dreamy atmosphere.I like how you build your songs. Start out slowly, then you build it up more and more. What I really like is how you incorporate that mean guitar into a mellow song.Great vocals and words too, need I have to mention that :-)! Well to make a long story short, another masterpiece!! Peace RJ
PS:You've heard my music, your technique is not laughable!!

Hi Gabriel!I'm listening to Take It Back. Very powerful track! Layers of music all working as one.The guitar work is killer and love the tone!I like the acoustic guitar way in the back! The drum vibe is so cool!! I really enjoyed the different directions this track took me on,but seems to stay on the same road..Real fine piece of music! Top of the line production and musicianship!! I'll be stopping by soon for another listen to your work!! Thanks for making and sharing this music with us!! peace RJ
