Biography

JASON JOHNSON: Vocalist; Songwriter; Producer. Jason Johnson has had a passion for singing and performing since early childhood and was influenced by such artists as Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross and Will Downing. Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and raised in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Jason began his musical journey by performing in local talent shows and various other local events. He performed all through junior high and high school, where his undeniable talent was recognized and he was awarded the "Most Talented Singer/Performer" award and was asked to sing the National Anthem at his high school graduation, which was one his proudest moments. Jason has worked with many production companies and artists such as Deidra Keys, of which he produced the single "Greatest Love Story Every Told" and with Nina Crump, an up-and-coming gospel artist based here in D.C. He is no stranger to the stage, as he has auditioned and performed for Star Search, Showtime at the Apollo and American Idol. Jason attributes his soulful, heartfelt sound to his musical family and his southern roots. He is a first tenor in range and is a unique vocalist because of his exceptional versatility and his ability to deliver powerful performances, whether he's singing R&B, Gospel or Rock. His fresh, pure sound is an ingredient that is missing amongst many of the R&B artists currently on the charts. Currently, Jason is in the studio diligently working on this record and is excited about sharing his gift with the world. Jason is a soulful singer, a creative and inventive producer and a talented song writer. He attributes his drive and determination to the support and encouragement of his family and attributes all his success to God.
