Song Information:
When Young Remained produced the music for these words a while ago, I thought how wonderful it would be as a ballad, and maybe with a woman's vocals? Marijan agreed, and in his usual wonderful style, arranged the song as a ballad. Petra Schlichter, lead singer for the German band Kassandra has very kindly put her stunning vocals to this song. I think at some stage, we have all written down our feelings to someone you love, that is what this song is about. x
Lyrics: I wrote a letter while you slept last night I spoke from my heart, at the time it felt right It's folded with secrets about our life Where I thought we'd gone wrong and what to put right I told you all about my day, how I'd thought of you Nervous as I planned what to say CHORUS Read my letter It's an opening to my heart It's full of words To show we've grown apart Read gently Don't take anything the wrong way Our love has drifted That's all I'm trying to say Each word is written with care and thought Memories of times when we used to talk Telling each other about the day we'd lived The laughter shared and what it meant to give How we used to make love in daylight Listen to the rain, laughed through the night CHORUS My letter's changed because you've twisted the meaning Now you turn away and talk of leaving Maybe I should have just let it be But we're different people and I needed you to see Perhaps my letter could change your mind As sometimes words can get left deep inside CHORUS |
