Lyrics:
Hold on to me
'cos I feel lost at sea
did I drown inside
washed up on the shores of this afterlife?
'cos I can't even stand
I can't begin to comprehend
the change in me
is more than I can stand...

Ch)
If you see me,don't speak to me
'cos I'm not really there
if you see me,don't touch me
'cos I'm not really there
it's just the shell of something falling
sideways through life...

V2)
Hold on to me
'cos somethings breaking free
behind my eyes
it all fals and fades as the kingdom of lies
and as hard as I try
I can't keep the dream alive
and it doesn't show
but my demons are dragging my angels below

(Rpt Ch)

Heard this on Mack's show tonight. Awesome!! Nigel you are such an amazing songwriter. This song is just incredible. I don't get it Nigel. I seriously rate you higher than a majority of pro artists who made/make millions. Your music and writing is far superior. Life is not fair my friend. You should be in a castle somewhere in the UK yelling at fans to get off your moat :)

This is excellent from the falling notes in the intro to the driven rhythm guitar. Your vocals are delivered in your Fab style. there is an underlying purpose to this song and its simple..pull the listener in all the way to the soul. Definitely a MUST listen!!!

Love it Nigel. Very cool tune with some solid composition and production. Very cool and at the same time steamy. . . perhaps sultry. I like the intensity you created with the chord progression, and how you release the tension with the refrain. Nice work. I think you really are falling sideways, and taking the listener down with you. Just land on the air mattress! Progressive and a must listen for sure! -Brian

Love the echoing at the beginning, so mystical, and the steady percussion moves it to build up with a fine bass line, -the guitar is neat with the reverb...a cosmic vocals, a mood of pensiveness. Good progression. very well chosen sound on the synth. Like the lyrics; symbolism there is neat...This is somber mood also, as someone else mentioned, & the words speak of a inner being trying to get out of what they have made of themselves...their own destiny..soaring guitar solo adds to the anxt, and is very DYNAMIC. wELL THOUGHT OUT my friend. You do it so well...seemingly effortlessly. Guitar sweeps & flys along so nifty well, enveloping around all.
EXCELLENT Composition. Fine production; great guitar artistry with much EXPRESSION.
Like it alot Nigel.FAB!!

Your musical senses never seem to betray you mate. Damn fine song every which way you look at it. Compositionally it's a masterpiece where the proper mood is keenly captured and enhanced to great effect. Super flow and lyrics. Love your use of instrumentation and the final blend of all elements. And of course the vocal and lyrics leave such great impressions of you as the artist. Wow...I DO love this tune!! Bravo Nigel ~Blake

This is scary good Nigel! That bit @ 5:20 threw me! Well placed in the mix. A somber tune and it wouldn't let me go. The way the outro lead guitar swells on the end is very fitting. Killer playing as usual, but I'm fascinated by your song composition. Tasty, creative, and professional. What goes thru your head man??

Absolutely HAUNTING leads on the lead-ins to the track, Nigel. I thought it was gonna' be one o' those "slow" thangs, but you knew RIGHT where you were going with the overpowering ambience. I give this one a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, for SURE!

Nigel such a complicated and outstanding song at the the end of 2008 !! You finished the saison with an exceptional piece of music. Its that unusly atmosphere which comes from all your dark songs. And it touches me deeply. The instrumentation is perfect and very professional produced. What an arrangement!!(and mixing).
What does it mean: a dark song in the beginning of 2009??
I hear that this song contains a number of thoughts, musical ideas and emotions. Typically for you.
Thanks NIgel and my best wishes fro 2009
Erik

Usually upon first listen to a new Nigel Potter song, I get the full effect, then upon repeated listenings, I pick out the exceedingly clever pieces and get another moment of "Wow!" from the song. This one is no exception (yeah, I know you're sick of hearing that line from me, but I can't help it)... Nice to hear again, that you're clearly in touch with your Dark Side lyrically, and the music supports the subject matter as well. You pick up a great, steady vibe on this one. And it's a blessing to hear you cut loose and let the song flow as long as it wants to flow. Get a real feeling here that you're letting the new stuff create itself, and that you're just along to play the right notes, which you do extremely well. There's a great bounding roaring quality to this new music, Nigel. And I'm having the time of my life hearing you cut loose!

Peace,
Jim
