Don't miss out on the Deal....DAVID C. DEAL, That is...TRANSFORMATIONS

Don't miss out on the Deal....DAVID C. DEAL, That is...TRANSFORMATIONS

David C. Deal - Transformations

I purchased this CD from David 3 weeks ago and I have listened to it, well over a dozen times. I knew I would want to write a review for him, but I wanted to get a true feel for the whole CD. The very first day I put it in my player, I found myself cranking it up, as each song played. I knew I was going to like this CD, but I had no idea, how much it would grow on me. With each listen, I picked up more depth of the music and more feel of each of the players involved. This was no "indie" artist CD I was listening to, this was as good as any CD I ever listen to. The quality of production, arrangement and musicianship was stunning me. Now, I hate to use artists to compare sounds, but this CD has styles ranging from Alan Parsons, Styx, Pink Floyd to a Disney Movie or a Broadway Production.

The CD opens with a Beautiful instrumental, featuring piano and flutes.......a very classical proggy ambient piece of music. This is followed by a heavier rock piece, with a touch of Styx influence, sung by Les Brooke, who has a fantastic voice. His 3rd track features the vocals Cynthia Lugo, who has an extremely beautiful voice. She also sings 3 other tracks on this CD and does so, with various styles of progressive rock, broadway, pop, blues and movie. She sings with such strength, you can't help, but be moved by her emotions. I don't mean to single out just a couple of the artists, because all of the players on this CD are TOPS at their instruments. David is the composer of all of the songs and the main player of keyboards on this CD. There are NO lame tracks and the CD moves quickly by and you're starting over, before you know it. The song arrangement is excellent, to keep the flow of music just right.

I HIGHLY Recommend this CD, for those who LOVE good music, in a rock style.........It's progressive and it's very pleasant listening. It'll get heavy, at times, but it's never overbearing. I give this CD...ALL of the Stars, I possibly can....+++++ Laughing

David!!! Thanks, for the GREAT Music........and at $10.99, ya can't beat the price either......hehehehehehhe OH YEAH!!!! The packaging is PROFESSIONAL....SUPER!!! I couldn't believe how nice it was. It's the best "indie" CD packing, I've ever gotten and as good as any pro artists, as well.

HELLO!! All New Members..Are You Missing The Magic of MIXP?!?!?!

Rob Grant (05/31/09 10:10:47)   Tag: A Mixposure Testimony :-)
HELLO!! All New Members..Are You Missing The Magic of MIXP?!?!?!

Well.......hmmmm??....you might say. Who the heck are you to ask!?!?! Ok.....I say........I am a MIXPOSURE musical hobbyist, who LOVES this site and thinks, maybe I should bring out some GREAT THINGS, I LOVE about this site.

I see so many New Artists here and I try to listen to as many as possible. The problem is, I see you come and then you're gone. This site, to me, is such a different type of site, I feel you may be missing opportunities to REALLY get a feel, for what it's all about. Some people might think it's "cliquey", but it's FAR from that. Everybody is encouraged to take part in the Chats, the Radio Shows, the chance to meet people from all over the world, form collaborations, and just get yourself known. Mixpo offers so many interactive opportunities and I'd love to see more people take advantage of that. Some may think the music review process is crazy, but it's a fun way to get feedback, whether it's simple or involved. Isn't it nice to know, that at least, you are appreciated and your efforts are being spread world-wide?!?!?!?!?!

You might look at your New Song stats and see you only have a few plays and a couple or even no reviews. DON'T let this be discouraging. You can BLOG your new song, introduce yourself in the forums or just do a couple of listens and comments........and the return will be there. MIXPO is not like MySpace, where you drop a song and wait........JOIN IN...HAVE FUN...I'd love to see more of you become an involved part of the family. I have met so many people here and had so many collaboration opportunities, it's amazing to me.

BUT HEY!!! Maybe the interactivity is NOT what you want.....that's cool too......It's just GREAT to see so many EXCELLENT new people join here at MIXPOSURE!!! It's GROWING and on the "Cutting Edge"........Be a part of it.......I can speak for many, I'm sure...We'd love to have you join in and have some FUN.

AND!!! If you need help to get around...there are PLENTY of us, who would love to help you. Believe me, once you get the hang of the site, it's easy.......and can be a HUGE promotional tool for you.

WELCOME ............. Loosen up ............. Have a GREAT Musical Experience.

Sunset In Havana........A Fantasy Story with Chris Moore

I want to THANK, Chris Moore for his SUPER input in Co-writing this song. I put together some basic music and asked Chris to join me in a collab. Chris really surprised me with his enthusiasm and wrote a great fantasy story, which he sang. He also added his fantastic piano and organ playing.

Chris!!!! Thanks!!! SO MUCH!!! for doing ALL you did and giving me a gift to add to my musical memories.

My 2008......A Year I'll NEVER Forget...Thanks to MIXPOSURE!!! After reflecting over my 2008, I came to the conclusion that the experience MIXPOSURE gave me, in the support I received, was not only something that affected a year of my life.....but my Whole Life!!!!  I still can't get over the support and tribute I got from the people here, when I had my brain aneurysm. The whole situation seems like a dream.......I had no idea what was even going on when it happened and the severity, until after it was over. When I saw ALL of those songs Dedicated to my support and all of the people concerned for my well-being...................I had no idea, that anyone, really even knew I existed.......not really. I mean, this is the internet.....BUT!!! It did confirm my hopes and beliefs, that I really did make internet friends. Anyway.....the Bottom line is......MIXPOSURE has been and is The BEST Site on the Internet and other than my family, the BEST part of my Life!!!

THANK YOU DAZED and WILD CHERRY and ALL of my Friends HERE at MIXPOSURE for a SUPER 2008!!!!

1000 REVIEWS AND proud OF IT............WHY?????

1000 REVIEWS AND proud OF IT............WHY?????

I wanted to remind some people and tell others, who may not know me, why I like to "Review" and what "Reviews" mean to me. I worked in Record stores for many years, back in "the day". It was time when breaking a new artist was a whole lot of fun. I used to listen to just about evry new record that came in the store. Man, I LOVED finding new artists. I used to find "no name" bands....put "Review" tags on the album cover and Front Rack them, then push the heck out of them........Albums like the first Boston, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Genesis -Foxtrot, Selling England, and then some who didn't make it so big....Camel, ELO, Soft Machine, Alan Holdsworth.....and TONS of others. Anyway, I continue to LOVE to find and enjoy listening to new music. I LOVE the idea that I can personally express my thoughts to an artist and pat him on the back for a job well done. I could tell Mick Jagger ...GREAT GIG, I doubt he'd care. HERE.....It's appreciated by most artists. I know I enjoy a little recognition.....it feels good and I like to make others feel good about their work and themselves. Reviews don't need to be big words and technical drama.......just a thanks to an artist for a nice listen......or a HEY!!! Nice Job, Bro!!! Anyway, I enjoy it and LOVE doing it and I'm proud of hitting #.....tada!!!! 1000 !!! very very soon smile

Rob Grant (04/04/08 18:12:17)   Tag: I don't know.......
NIGHTWATCH I with Gary Carciello This base song was written by Gary Carciello. He presented me with a Strings and guitar track, then asked if would add some drums or whatever. Well...I took to the song and added a bit more than he expected....hehehehehehehe.. I LOVED the version and he liked it very much. It wasn't quite what he was looking for, so he created NIGHTWATCH II with DOCTOR C and was performed by CARCIELLO, GRANT, and DOCTOR C on is located on that page. I hope you enjoy this version :-)

It was done back in the end of the SUMMER 07. Gary has given me permission to post it in my prog/ambient collection :-)
THANK YOU, GARY!!!

UNITED, WE'LL STAND !!! DIVIDED, WE'LL FALL !!!

Rob Grant (03/30/08 21:14:42)   Tag: I don't know.......
UNITED, WE'LL STAND !!! DIVIDED, WE'LL FALL !!! It has saddened me, that I can't respond and review as I wish. I see SO MANY New Friends here and I want to GREET them all, with open arms. This has been such a strong SITE for friendships, collaborating, and just general relaxation. I see faces missing and THAT really saddens me..........We ALL share a common goal, whatever it is, that brought us here......we MUST hold on to our friendships, goals, progress and keep UNITED !!!
The whole record industry is in turmoil, UNITED, we will STAND OUT and be the biggest part of the coming music industry.
I have finally gottem all but 1 song on my SFR CD's and have listened to them constantly for 3 days now. As soon as I can spend time sitting up.....I can't WAIT to respond in the reviews, for each song. I can assure you, each one has touched me deeply......AND!!! The way they were drilled into me was alphabetical, so I didn't know who many were, but played guessing. It was a tremendous way for me to listen.......and I did pretty good, figuring out who was who, by knowing the artists sound. I'll give myself about 80%........I finally typed out a list for myself.....I was GREAT LISTENING !!
As always, I LOVE THIS SITE and ALL involved......Please! Stay United and let's ALL proceed for making our home, the kick off, for the new music industry.
PEACE and YEAH!, BABY.......
Rob

oh yeah !!! Remember, I have lost my mind....and still working with a new brain.....hehehehehehe. I think they got it right, because it doesn't hurt to sit........

I have FINALLY achieved "Goal 1" I just finished downloading all of the songs, from the "Songs For Rob Catagory". I have been wanting to listen and respond, but have not felt well enough to do either. Why?? My computer is located in a different room, than I sleep. Sitting upright is still difficult, due to head surgey and general weakness......sheeeesh! Not to mention the "Emotional" side of this event and your support. I'M A COWGIRL...HAVE A "GRUMPY" DAY !!!

Rob Grant (02/06/08 07:03:48)   Tag: I don't know.......
First...THANK YOU, ALL for the WILD support of my granddaughter and I. I put this up for her and she will go BERZERK, when she sees the nice comments you all made. She's already a Hannah Montana NUT, this will push her along nicely. She actually is taking guitar lessons now. Yes, she loved to watch me play and decided she wanted a guitar and lessons, for Christmas. She wanted to record a song, so I threw this together and played it for her. She just sang it and made up the words as she went. The "THUNMPING" during the first verse, is her horse :-) Ok, so I posted it and told her last night, she got all excited. She asked.....Will people all over the world hear it? I said...Sure will!! Will they hear it in their own languages?.......HAHAHAHAHA! She cracked me up, but I told her, No....they'll hear it as is. Tonight I will bring her to the page. She's gonna FREAK.

HAVE A "GRUMPY" DAY - IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC!!! DONSTER PROJECT

I got a copy of GOP's CD and have been listening to it...well?.....since I got it. It's in my truck player and there it shall remain for a while. Hearing his songs, where I can really listen and enjoy, has TOTALLY turned me on to him. He is ONE Wild Guitarist. He writes GUITAR SONG, no need for keyboards and synths.....he does it all with guitar. This CD gives me the feel of a WISHBONE ASH CD, in that they too were a Guitar group. GOP plays many different styles and uses many different tones. All of his songs are produced well and have GREAT structure. The mainstream is missing out on this.......and I look forward to the day, when WE ARE the "Mainstream" of the music industry. GRUMPY!!! YOUR CD IS EXCELLENT!!!

IMS CD and Personal Listening Time :-)

Rob Grant (01/29/08 11:36:47)   Tag: I don't know.......
IMS CD and Personal Listening Time :-) I've been meaning to post my CD Listening pleasures...and finally, I'm taking the time to do it. This is actually CD III............I can't find my list for 1 and 2...But I WILL!! I'd like to THANK all these ARTISTS for their Music Sharing and the enjoyment I get from listening, while I drive around the city.
1. Funkey Monkey - Artificial Earth - This has to be one of the most FUN tracks, I've ever heard
2. Ride Into The Sunset - Dazed, Fla M, and Warren P - This song - A GREAT Cruisin' Track, with Superb musicianship and vocals. My IMS Eagles :-)
3. Sunglasses and a Smile - Lex Zaleta - Lex too, does very FUN music and this one kinda hit me with his FUNK and Cool Story lines. Nice harmonica solo, funky beat, and the feel of the Ol' Lee Michaels or Leon Russell material
4. Chillin' From The Inside Out - RS Cain
5. Hard To Get a Stripper Off The Pole - RS Cain
6. Poor Little Johnny - RS Cain
7. She Makes Me Nervous - RS Cain
8. Back to Baghdad - RS Cain - If you're looking for A super produced sound and some down and dirty rockin' blues...Straight out of the BAR, RS is your Man! He Smokes!
9 The-Rat - Bri-an - NEXUS Song of the Year 2007....Need I say more?!?!?! Ok, Bri-an produced a super song, powerful drums, and a tough message to the "rats". hehehehehe
10. Bar Stool Boogie - Mike Gentry - Well, Peter told me to give him a listen. I did....and Mike is one heck of a super guitarist.......flare, taste, and speed.
11. Dorian Toccatta - Doctor C - The Master of the B3.....This song shows his versatality and talent. WHEW!! The DOC C is M' man!!
12. No Time - Fuzzion - A taste of Beck and Hammer, nice instrumental Jazz-Fuzzion with a driving bass, soft keys and a GREAT Theme.
13. Waves Part II - Gabriel Sabadi - Strong theme, with driving orchestration, and guitar plus, fron the guitardoctor. Ambient, prog, electronica
14. Desert Ride - Surfthenorthwest - One of my favorite ambient-prog style artists. A nice theme, with a little soft piano, leading the way. Very much a story theme styled song.
15. Tiger Eye Blues - George Shepherd - Another ambient-prog-bluesy theme, with LOTS of feel and emotion. George's guitar work is powerful and at times he reminds me of Alan Holdsworth
16. Leaving (with Luay Rifai) - Peter Mercer - I guess you can tell, I hit a mood with these songs. Another SUPER Ambient, prog, bluesy styled theme with POWERFUL Guitar work throughout. Nice piano backing with smooth orchestration.
17. Ambient Jam BT - Robert Smith ROBBO1 - I followed the mood with this super guitar driven ambient styled mood track, from Robbo1. He's one FINE Guitarist, with tons of style, tone, and taste.
18. The Distant Light - RWK - reapersg - Another fine guitarist I found here, who writes music in my favorite genre. This is a Pink Floyd style song, with excellent melody, guitar, and vocals.
19. She's Ours - TLT50 - WhereWolf and Mystery Guest - One smooth lesson in keyboard and guitar funk.

Well, this completes my quick review of a GREAT Collection of music. I am MUCH APPRECIATIVE to them ALL, for sharing their music and giving me personal listening pleasure. :-) WELL?!?!? I got 5 more IMS Cd's to write up........

SUSPICIOUS ACTS II...My Friends :-)

Rob Grant (01/17/08 17:42:11)   Tag: I don't know.......
SUSPICIOUS ACTS II...My Friends :-) I would really like to credit all of the support and help, I got on this song. I sent Gabriel a 4 + minute track of the song. I drum, bass, and acoustic track and asked if he provide keyboards.

Gabriel Sabadi - Gabe sent me a super lush ambient intro and an orchestrated track, that knocked me out. Gabe plays all synth, strings, and choir. He also handled all of the files and engineering.

DAZED - I had to ask him......I loved his voice....but, quite honestly, he shocked me with a YES reply. Dazed wrote the lyrics and did all vocals.....and REALLY did a SUPERB JOB!!

The guitars.....Well, I felt right off the bat, that Reapersg had the style I loved for this song. He has that Steve Hackett feel, that I love. Reaps did all intro lead guitar and all lead work up to the organ solo. At this point, I knew I wanted to include Gary C, so he provided me with some intro chords and a backing lead to the organ and an solo which ends the major part of the song. The transition WILD ending, was providied and played by Gabriel Sabadi, with the guitar work of The GuitarDoctor.....funny, it's Doctor C on organ in the ending, as well. The DOCS!!! Doctor C also did the mid-section Organ solo. SO!!! I want to THANK THEM ALL for playing with me....and I HOPE to do many more of these collabs.

Why do I write so many reviews :-)

Rob Grant (11/20/07 18:12:22)   Tag: I don't know.......

I worked in record stores for 12 years, in the "day". I LOVED finding and promoting new music then and I do now. I get so wrapped up in listening and I appreciate the opportunity to comment to the artist. I mean...it's a Real World here. Do ya think Mick J. would care, if I told him Satisfaction was an awesome track. Somehow, I think he wouldn't care, he already knows it LOL!!!! SO!!! I just look forward to my listening time. I have my First 2 IMS CD's, I've been listening to. I will post them shortly, with little song reviews. MAN!!! I just LOVE to listen.

Rob
