Biography

Slow Marching Band consists of two members: James Griffiths from Scotland and Larry Hansen from the USA. Ahhhh..the power of the internet! Someday we'll actually meet and record a live session!

We compose mostly instrumentals and add 'bit's 'n pieces' until something 'sticks'. The never-ending story....

James plays the Les Paul, synth and does the final mixing when not chasing goats..

Larry plays the Taylor acoustic, bass, and some percussion, including tapping on beer cans...

I guess we do whatever we feel like musically as we are not locked into any particular genre, tho we both have an affinity for music with a Celtic flavor.

With that said, we hope that those who listen will enjoy what they hear and it stays in your head for sometime to come.

Many thanks for your encouraging review of "Stasis". Just dropping by to thank you, but also to let you know I've updated the song with significant changes to the velocity layers in the strings - in particular the climax - as well as adding the Irina Brochin soundfont , in addition to two edited Crisis(CGM3) Choir soundfonts. I'll check out your stuff later on today.

Hey Larry, I got your note and yes I am working on some more material, but I can't seem to get the lead guitar thing going. I sent a song to Bob about a month ago and now I can't seem to get in touch with him. Looks like I might have to put some of my "rookie git" to it!!!! I'm sure he'll come around, I just hope nothing bad happened. Thanks for the note old friend!!

Thanx for stoppin' by and commentin' on our song!
Spinnin' your Southern Wind instrumental. Pretty professionally composed, delivered and produced piece.LP fits into mainly acoustic background suprisingly well.I'm more accustomed to hear Fenders in this context.
My main instrument is 78' LP Black Beauty.
Piece!

Thank you for your kind comment about the Mountain Song. That song was done about 10 yrs. ago on analog, with a cassio drum section a keyboard. It was fun recording. I have more to come! I really like brace for impact. Great tune! The same with ice scooner.
