David was born at Dartford Hospital, Kent (UK) on November 19th 1959. He spent his teenage years growing up with brother and sister Cliff and Dawn in rural south west England - where their parents had relocated in persuit of improved quality of life. Aged 16 he formed a band 'Early Daze' with classmates at Minehead Upper school.
After 6th Form the school band was rebranded 'Helter Skelter' ... see www.therealhelterskelter.com ... but soon after David left to join the Hare Krishnas in 1980
In 1997 David built a guitar (right) that he had seen in a dream ... with a neck completely inlayed with mother of pearl - symbolically, he later said, reconnecting with my pre-Hare Krishna self ...
I have written songs throughout my life. I am never happier than when I have a song on the go ... there is something about the creative process itself that I deeply enjoy.
I consider myself an existential singer / songwriter ... in other words I almost always write songs about existential questioning, divinity, personal / spiritual growth / unity / oneness ... that sort of thing ... you get the gist :) ... my offering to the world so to speak.
2013: David now lives in Bushey, England with his social worker wife Debbie. He has 2 sons ... both at university at the time of writing. David continually writes and records songs in his home studio.
If want to know more about the philosophy and existential thinking that inspire David's songs, you might like to visit his Amaiyu.com blog website.
