Biography

Tony Vani is a versatile singer/songwriter and brilliant harmonica player who performs and lives in the Belleville, Ontario area. He writes and performs simple songs about complex things:love, family, home. Phrases turn, emotions connect, melodies soar. You sing along even though you have not heard the tune before.  

He performs as a compelling single act, and also performs in two other dynamic groups, "The Stir" and "The Return".  As a single act, he combines both original material mixed with cover tunes including songs by Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Cat Stevens, U2 and other hit makers.  His band, "The Stir," is blues based and has played in the Belleville area for  the past 20 years.  Tony's other group, "The Return," are a classic rock group who have reformed after a long hiatus. They performs music from, The Rolling Stones, The Ramones, The Beatles, CCR and other giants in the industry.  His groups have opened for  Dr. Hook, Wild T and The Spirit and other big name acts.

Tony's most recent endeavour is the creation of his exiting new CD called "The Nite"  and has two tracks completed which are being promoted on Itunes and other popular media sites. The songs, Live Hard and Play Hard and Praying Mantis are a mix of southern rock and blues.  His other CD, the award winning Soul Retrieval, was created with his partner Debbie Hoskin. Soul Retrieval is an eclectic and inspiring album that spawns various genres inluding adult contemporary and adult rock.
