Biography
Hailing from New York City, this fireball's natural innate talent and well defined ambition places her in a category of her own. Astrid is a multi-talented, multi-lingual artist whose name means "of the stars".
After graduating High School, Astrid began singing in a multitude of different bands, giving her the professional versatility that led her to become a finalist on the national TV production Star Search and then shortly thereafter to joining Jimmy Buffet as a back up vocalist for his Hot Water Tour. Since then, she has had the opportunity to tour nationally in the company of groups like Bonnie Raitt, Rita Coolidge, The Neville Brothers, Ralph McDonald, Little Feat, and Memphis Horns, Steve Cropper and several other national and internationally touring headliners.
Astrid's creative history has led her to doing numerous voice over pieces for national radio and TV along with commercials for Papa Johns, Chrysler and others. An incredibly talented artist with a stylistic range to die for…from big bad swing to soul fill R & B right on through to one of her favorite styles of music, head banging Rock and Roll. Nobody owns the versatile capacity that this young lady makes look so easy.
In addition to her vocal and song writing talents, Astrid also freelances as an actress. Not only can you hear her on the title track for the motion picture "Primal Rage", you will also see her performing in the movie. Other motion picture and television appearances include a role in the movie "Death Match", Oliver Stone's "Any Given Sunday", as well as several appearances in the TV show "Miami Vice".
Astrid has also received video writing credit for one of Miami's own, Donna Allen's music video "Serious". The idea was submitted in competition with several seasoned pros and Astrid's was chosen as the winner.

'Poof' rocks very nicely, starts me up into your great vocals. Your singing is most vibrant, has a good range, with good emphasis in the fine lyrics...like the guitar, fine synth to keep a nice groove; cool changes, nifty stop for the guitar; very good arranging. 'My Life' -had to hear your versatility. This one has cool motion to it. Like the vocal & the sound style that changes, for a neat variance. Good efx., I think it was on the guitar. Good percussion; steady along with the subtle bass. Good synth keys...nice sound.
Fine guitar playing' soars right out; very tasteful; without taking away from your wonderful vocals.
All again well done sound mix. Love this one.

'Spain' - I picked this first since my last few tunes here have had a relationship directly or indirectly to my roots there. Love the country.
You have great vocals; fine range, lovely image by the way. Lots of artist on this site from Florida..." I guess subconciously,that may have had me put out my instrumental 'Miami to Key West Bossa Blues' just yesterday.
Love the guitar playing here; fine tremlo effect. Great backup for your soaring vocals; everything is in their right placement compliments you so well. Good sound mix; fine arranging & a totally great production. Got to love that subtle addition of the Spanish guitar with those soft nylong strings.
