Biography
Do You Remember When Music Was So Meaningful To You That It Changed Your Life?
"Sometimes, in the midst of a perfectly ordinary day, one is unexpectedly flooded by the magnificence of “what is.” Perhaps that moment of awareness and clarity arrives while watching a storm or absorbing a piece of art or kneeling with intention in a church. If blessed, echoes of the past and visions of the future fade from existence as the unknowing silence of the infinite present emerges. With patience and grace, one comes to know the incredible richness of “what is” as a revelation of God’s face and the mind is forever transformed into a mirror of creation." . . . .

Musical Information about David C Deal;
David lives in Ohio where he is a practicing psychologist. His favorite instruments are keyboards; however he also enjoys playing acoustic guitar. He currently performs in several bands including a Trans-Siberian Orchestra tribute band named Siberian Solstice. He recently finished a four year stint in a Pink Floyd Tribute Band named One of These Daze.
A word from David about Transformations;
I have recently completed the creation of a concept album entitled Transformations, which is both a spiritual autobiography and hopefully, a spiritual vessel. The songs from Transformations have deep, emotional and spiritual meaning.
The songs from this CD are meant to be heard sequentially for full effect.I enjoy writing songs which emanate from the deeper recesses of the universal human mind. The CD "Transformations" makes use of Jazz, Rock, Broadway and Progressive Rock in a format which attempts to honestly express intense spiritual/emotional experiences spanning a lifetime.Transformations is a CD meant to be truly "heard" and savored.
Contributing Artists;
Some additional musicians who play on Transformations include Les Brooke, Tom Hannah, Tim Vargo, Andy Vargo, Cynthia Lugo, Andrea Bok, David Coonrod, Ned Clark, Kevin Peters, Kristin Sorensen and William O'Connell. I want to extend special thanks to Arthur Kills Straight Putnam who wrote and recorded the native flute song following each composition. Arthur's segments represent "Spirit" which is best heard when the mind is most quiet.

Wishing you all the best, my friend.

Thanks for your recent coments on "Time". That tune is a collaboration with one of the "On the Brink" guys, Dave Brink, who is the vocalist and keyboardist. The song is very much a group effort in it's creation, so I should only claim 25% credit. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your efforts, too.

Really an awesome song...one of the best jam songs I've heard in quite some time. Love it guys!! This one's a keeper Dave and KED, if ya know what i mean. ..B

Hi David,
I have listened to all of the songs you've posted here. Really really good music my friend. There are plenty of beautiful passages, some excellent dual lead guitar parts, and overall a bunch of great writing!! My favorite tracks are "dark night of the soul" and "BUMP". I also love what you said about how powerful music is. (because you're right)
Keep going with your musical (and spiritual journey) and keep sharing the music with us.
Cheers - DG
p.s. - thanks for the nice review of "I can't wait"
p.s.s - I think bump could be really cool with some lyrics to it.... :)

I have taken possession of the Transformations CD. I have spun it many times over the last few days and can tell you it's diverse, it's inspired, it's got heart and soul. The writing, playing, and production is everything I could hope for. It was a long time coming, but this was clearly worth it. Of course none of what I said came as a surprise to me. I know what Dave and his band of merry and excellent musicians can do, and it's right here! This is an album I can highly recommend without reservation to almost anyone. It's got the versatility, appeal and depth for so many of us music lovers. A most wonderful achievement. My congratulations to you Dave, the band, and to all those making the wise decision to support this art. Besides, us musicians could always stand to learn a thing or two from this work. ...blake

Ahh, Mr. Deal - I stayed up late on Monday (considering the time-difference) and listened to Maurice's show. He played one of your songs, "Help Me Fly" - really beautiful stuff there. Seem to remember the chat room going nuts for it and rightly so. Well done.

I must say Dave...even though I know all your music, your CSP last night absolutely floored me. What inspiration! What a monologue! What absolutely fantastic creativity on display, and such great performances from everyone - wrapped in such lavish productions. To hear your creations played this way, in more of an album format - it really hits home what kind of an artist you are and how good the Transformations album will be. And you know, the second I know that album is available...I'm there! Congrats to you, and to all your wonderful musicians for filling the air with such sweet sounds. The spirit is in you, and it shines so brightly. Nothing less than brilliant! Truly exciting!!!
~Blake
