Biography

I suppose that it doesn't really make any difference what I have done in the past and who I've played with so I'll just dispense with all that. The only thing that matters is what is going on today.

A couple of things I'll mention here is that I've been in music for decades, have a degree in music education and although I can play several instruments, some equally well, I enjoy creating music with my 1967 Goya guitar which I acquired in 1968.

Today I'm semi retired and spend almost all of my time creating what is my passion, jazz. I fell in love with it when I was 7 and it has kept me intrigued all these years. I can play any style of music whether rock, country or ethnic but choose to play jazz simply because I can play it. I create a lot of tunes, probably between 2-3 a week. Most are a mix of jazz and blues. Why? Because I can, have the time and have an incredible thirst for creativity.

I realize that jazz on these sites are probably the least listened to and misunderstood genre but I want to thank those of you who are willing to take a listen to what I have created for artistical value if anything else. Thanks for taking a listen!

I respect your not wanting a review on "What Ya Do To Me", but I feel compelled to stop by and say what a damn good song this is. Nice vibe, smooth guitar -- this just makes me feel so goo.

Had to leave a comment, Walk on By is so pretty! A really relaxing and gentle piece of music. A sitting on the sidewalk in some beautiful country watching the world go by with a glass of wine in my hand type of song! Love it! Wishing you well as always, Melsi

Hello Markku! Just listened to 'Lucky', couldn't leave a message there for some weird reason ...
Anyways, I loved what I heard, as always with your fine jazz music. You obviously have your heart and soul in this exciting genre and it shows! Wonderful!
Heinz.

Damn you're one laid back motherfucker, huh? Very nice and upbeat melodies. The chord progressions sound pretty standard and easy to follow.

I used to do jazz, but i gave it up. Did you know that jazz is the gateway genre? It'll give you cancer and make your face look awkward and only lead to other forms of music. Stop jazz before start to become intelligent and realize that they are intentionally being dumbed down. Then they might start asking, "Who's responsible for this?".

Scary....

Here I am again, had to pop round to listen to Lucky. This is just as beautiful as ever. Really love the piano playing, really foot tapping, and as always the sax just melts me. A great visit as always. Melsi

Superb musicianship and compositions my friend. It takes a lot of dedication and time to understand this concept of music and most musicians simply don't have the patience to at least grasp it. I studied Jazz and Classical and you have nothing but my utmost respect... Bravo !!!!

'Stir Crazy' pulled me right in...been feeling that way anyhow; --lovely floating bouncing bass that keeps such a great groove goin', -great syncing with the horns & synth I believe it was. Fine piano that melts into the music, nice phrasing. Very good guitar 'work', actually 'effortless' ha,haa Fab sax-one instrument I wished I could play. I often listen to brass instruments ,esp. sax to get guitar ideas.
Fantastic production amigo. All works so well as one.
Your friend & fan- Vesa.

'Why Me' has a nifty classic jazzy feel; like this dtyle of music, a most fave 'genre' I could listen to this for a very long time; it alters me, & when that happens, I'm gone into a relaxing space.
Great sax, like that progression, subtle piano adds in so well in the beginning, then flows fluently on it's own. Fine arranging.
My kind of music. All's great here. Superb!
Thanks for the mind break. Well produced...also gotta love that bass & percussion.
Take care. -Vesa.

I been mixing the styles but my lines come from bebop and trane so thank you for inspiring me to get back to where my heart is.. you're right you know.. jazz takes tooo long to master and who wants to do that when it's not as popular as doing simple rock songs? peace..
