Biography

The 12 songs in parts 1 through 4 on the player that you are listening to are by artists from all over the world with a message.

These 12  tracks in total were presented in the same order they appear here as on the live edition of Zest Radio Show on February 3 2007 on CKRG 89.9 FM Radio Glendon, York University, Toronto, Canada.

Paul Richmond, host of the show, extends his gratitude to all of these great artists for donating their music for this segment, The One Word Mantra Of Peace.

After the segment was released as a download to communities the world over, reaction to the music was overwhelmingly positive and filled with emotion by the listeners, and the musicians that took part in this compilation.

There has been so much positive feedback of the music and the way it flows.

The lyrics of the songs presented and the underlying music send each artists expression of their thoughts of how the world around them has influenced their choice of message in collaborations and community spirit.

Certainly there must be more people out there that need to hear these musicians music in this amazing compilation, without the spoken word element of the broadcast included. Why? Because the music in this presentation encompasses the ability to bring forth many emotions in terms of our planet, it's inhabitants and ultimately, a want for peace to prevail.

Enjoy, and please, any feedback would be welcomed by myself, the artists and the world at large.

Peace,

Paul

'On Word Mantra... Part 1' is ever so well thought out-seemingly effortless. Simply a healing for my mind on a quieter Sunday. Thanks for the pleasure.

Thank you Paul for all your kind words and support.

I can think of no one who has done more or worked harder for the earth and every soul on it.

If there was an annual award for services to the independent musicsn, you wuold surely win it year in and year out.

Keep the faith,it is a good one :)

Paul, I read your message today before I had to leave for work and finally - I would like to thank you so much for the honor to include "Earth is our Mother" on your list. Mrs. Velma Frye is still a good friend of mine and I will let her know, and I also woöö love to come back and listen again to all the other songs which I know so well... great and important work, and thank you so much for your support and friendship throughout the years.

Nigel,

Thank you for your great music and participation in this compilation.

In the above "bio" information I mention the reaction from people around the world that have listened to this compilation of music from the original broadcast.

You are one of the artists that gave their thoughts.

I am pasting your comments you wrote publicly of the brodacast below for those that want to know your thoughts on this amazing music as it was presented.

Thank you Nigel and all the musicians that donated their music, art and passion for this important message of a want for Peace.

Cheers,

Paul

P.S. Nigel's response to original broadcast;

My thoughts are Zest...

Having sat there and listened,on headphones...

Cup of tea and a cigarette....

I will be honest and say there was several times when
I just wanted to cry.

Very unmanly I suppose to say so,but I am what I am.

The reason being, you can feel the ache in those songs.

And that ache doesn't go away.

It's there everytime you think about war, hunger, world polution etcetera.

So,I tend not to think about it until it gives me no choice but say something or explode.

As each song came and went,I thought about the commonality of this want, this need, this almost essential ingriedient for inner peace.

Then, somehow, inner peace and outer peace, world peace became one.

There can be no world peace without inner peace, there can be no healing of the world without healing of the self,no light without letting go of the dark inside.

I remember Guy saying once that peace required sacrfice..

That I took to mean there was to be no sub clause to

THOU SHALT NOT KILL.

That for me says it all.

Each song gave a glimpse into a human soul, and there

you could feel the hurt that this caused to the spirit, the damage it did to the wholeness inside.

War is raging...

Ecological disaster is looming...

These are not opinions from a state of mind, these are simple, cold hard facts.

It will be the last test mankind faces.

The bringing to heel of the self.

What is the world but a mass of 1's.

A planet of I.

Move the one, move the I and you move the world.

That is the only way forward.

Through music, the last universal language, beyond maths, through the artist not afraid to say he hurts, echoes will be found in the vast majority of hearts, hearts can change the world where the word of the polotician and preacher never will.

Imagine a child that is constantly hurt and all it asks is you stop hitting it.

Who would ignore that cry to end the pain?

Only those with a vested interest in keeping the pain alive.

For selfish goals like profit and power.

Not on my watch.

And now I am angry again.

Because I cannot change anything, but sing some damn stupid song about no more war upon the green earth.

I don't want praise,I don't want to be number one,I just want it to !"£$$% well stop.

Ah well, sigh, such is the emotion when you let it free.

Music does that to me,it focuses everything to a sharp image.

No more lies,no more excuses, just, stop, for the love of God,just stop it.

Nigel.
