Biography

Gezha Prime is the music project owned by 36-year-old musician/composer Brian Hess, an award winning veteran US Navy broadcast and print journalist. Gezha Prime has been a conceptual act of the electronica genre, incorporating various subgenres and styles with organic brass and stringed instruments, which he coins as organica. Raised in Muncy, Pennsylvania, Hess a resident of Belfair, Washington, continues to pursue musical interests as a legacy musician. His first experiences in music were at home where his mother, Victoria Thompson-Hess, taught him his first trumpet lessons. While growing up, he participated in her professional brass choir. Hess attributes his talent and drive to pursue instrumental and compositional music due to her inspirational support during his teen years. After a ten-year-long US Navy career, Hess attended Olympic College in Bremerton, where he played French horn for the wind ensemble and trumpet for the jazz/stage band. There he also pursued music theory and studied under Tony Grasso, another trumpet mentor. He also played baritone horn and French horn for the Farragut Brass, a British-style brass band sponsored by the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He remained with this group for about three years. Hess’s focus of music study has been primarily common practice period theory and classical trumpet performance. Hess briefly attended Pacific Lutheran University in 2005, where he studied the Trumpet Sonata by Paul Hindemith and performed in various ensembles and composer forums under the instruction of Dr. Edward Powell, director of bands. Hess has studied a wide repertoire of professional solo material from Leopold Mozart to Arthur Arutunion. Hess plays many other instruments to include guitar, bass, keyboards and has experience with traditional “Salvationist” Eb Alto horns. His experience with software suites such as Sonar Producer, Samplitude, Magix, Cakewalk, Kinetic, Fruity Loops 7 XXL, Reason 4.0, and a multitude of virtual synthesizers helps him to create diverse sounds by combining multiple palettes. Hess’s goal for Gezha Prime is to promote experimental ideas into the electronica genre and still play the club scene, bringing his own unique style to a major labor for mass distribution all over the world. His music is hosted on Mixposure.com, MySpace.com, and Soundclick.com. The “gimmick” for Gezha, Prime of the Carina Nebula can be found on these sites. Hess also continues to collaborate with artists over the intranet from time to time on various projects. He is currently working with Kevin Bottorf of Radio Dystopia and putting together a compilation album of their combined work over the last four years. Hess continues to play Getzen trumpets and horns, and utilizes Dell computers running Windows XP Professional to support his electronic compositions. Hess’s other interests includes writing Sci-Fi, sailing his 24’ sloop, and fishing the many waterways and streams of the Pacific Northwest. Links: www.soundclick.com/gezha, and the main site www.mixposure.com/gezha_prime Gezha Prime is self-managed and open to promotion through contractual agreements with a major label at this time, provided that the agreement grants him reasonable control over intellectual ownership and creativity as laws within the United States would imply.

I find this refreshing New Age music beyond description. Brian creates total undiscovered worlds, described with the musical magic of his bright talent. Tun this music on to let your mind escape from this mundane world and translate your thought into living metaphors!
Superb musician with an absolute domain on musical synthesis!

I did a sample of a number of your tracks because you have accumulated a lot - I was struck by the restless often edgy and atonal slant to many tunes. You are obviously a master of your genre and there sis rewarding and exciting listening experience here for anyone. ftlpope

No, my birthday was not on the fifteenth. The new layout of the website confused Abbeyville Road in the new panel that is on the top Left corner of the main home page. It was showing me online, but the way it appeared (because there were no other birthdays that day, it looked like it was MY birthday. Perhaps, since I'm so silly, that EVERYDAY should be my birthday! But, to all those who have passed onto me birthday well wishes, I thank you 8 and a half months in advance! -gp

Welcome to my small circle of friends.
I have not been here for a long time, I must get here more often. I have just lately been busy moving. Other than that just doing music critic work for a national magazine. I hope after the move I will be here more and do my page the way I would like it to look.

Thank you for your friendship. Music moves me. Jackie

The homage that must be paid, is that of you to Mother In Law! For, we have the x-2012 congongulator conjumbulator P. that will make you want to continue to submit to our whims.....when the time comes....(whispers...December 21 2012) you will know it. So stop with the, "my plans are working perfectly" carp. You know we own you and you have been stealing the master plan for universal domination from us all along. BOW to Mother In Law, Gezha! For the only prime you are overlord of is, The P. Room. Now get in there and start sparkling the chrome and grankafloria beast lair!

Ye shall bow to our every whim and stop pretending that you are in control. We have interrupted your unauthorized broadcast to certain individuals that need not hear your lies and threats of being "favoured". You are the favoured one oh puny underlord of Xetock's Mother In Law (insert Barbara Steisand's name here). In other words, gorach platableto fragula stiblo regaga putzta...peweeey....
