Biography

Hi, I'm Dan,

My 'axe' for the last many years is the Flute. I play the standard C flute, Alto, Eb and Piccolo and very comfortable playing by ear.

If forced to, I play a little clarinet as well  ;)

I currently play in a 3 person ensemble (80's folk rock) and am a member of the Seattle Flute Society Flute Choir.

I am a refuge from the MyVirtualBand site... Some of my collaborations from MVB and other online collaborations can be heard here (Enjoy)

I enjoy all musical styles. So if you think you have a piece that you think flute would sound good in, give me a call!!

Daniel, excellent music here with brilliant instrumentation. The flute part is really something. My favorite songs are "Cheiro Do Mar" & "Impossive". Very clean mix as well.

Hi Dan, I have just listened to Impossivel, it is so lovely! I wish I had been sitting by the sea with the sun setting while listening to it. Love the vocal too. Wishing you well Melsi

I really enjoyed looking further into your mazing artwork to animation...I saw just abit prior, came back & was taken by your immense talent.
I used to do some animation shorts; commercials esp. for ad agencies & as Art Director for television, but they kept the rights. No copies...I did more illustration,anyhow,-- now with teaching been by main profession of art/design, I pick & chose things like CD/DVD covers for example. If you have your e-mail to send I could show you one or two. My web is not updated to show illustrations right now, only prints & paintings.
Now to your music Daniel. Thanks.
-Vesa.

'Fingerprints is a very lovely composition, a good choice of instruments; cool flute weaving its way through the atmosphere of sounds that compliment. Fine guitar; good production.
(before I forget, I saw your site; very neat stuff, good fab artistry. So did you ever meet Sean Connery...I actually did in 1978 when I was in Spain near Malaga by one of his villas, but it was a quick hello & all the best mates as he came to see someone next door at the Yoga retreat; strange, small world)
Like the harmonics at the end. Very enjoyable Daniel...sorry for the belated reply.
You're a multi-talent. Are you still doing much art outside of the flute?
-Your friend & fan also. -Vesa. (thanks for the pleasure).

Thanks Vesa,
The head is a 3D model I created of "Zardoz", from the 1974 film with Sean Connery. Glad you like it. If you are interested, you can see more of my 'artwork' at http://www.stratacafe.com/member.asp?ID=4735

'Heading Out' this kinda remind me of JJ Cale style...
Like the guitar progression & the groove is just so fine. Great vocals. By the way that is such a cool backdrop in behind your Profile with the flute thru the head. Great flute expression; cool sound! Fine, so fine guitar too. A real fave tune. Excellent mix.
Your friend & also fan. -Vesa. Take care Daniel.

'Emma' has a very enotive feel, like the flute & guitar weaving in & out -across eaach other, very well arranged... I feel a bit of a celtic touch...great! A piano comes in...very unexpected but welcoming addition. An uncomplex tune; minimal in a way; hearing more than there actually is. Lovely melodic; a joy to the senses.
Your friend & fan also. -Vesa.

Great playing on the flute. Like the guitar's bright and uplifting accompaniment. It has a bit of a Spanish quality. The flute is very North American, a touch of Latin, although I believe you have had other influences by your great style. Very mellow sound and most relaxing. Very enjoyable to listen to more than once.
Thanks for the pleasure.
Take care. -Vesa.

Thanks so much DCSchneider,
The vocal on Heading Out is that of Luke Adrian Stephenson of Brisbane, Australia. Very talented individual and a very prolific lyricist and vocalist. He currently frequents a site another site; v-band.de by the handle of "Lukas Adro"
