Biography

Janet has been a popular Sydney blues artist for many years, and is enjoying favorable reviews with her band “Janet Levy's Good Intentions” .Janet also sings and plays with the house band on Captain Cook's “MV Sydney 2000” Sky Deck dinner show every Monday & Tuesday night on Sydney Harbour. Janet has performed at many major blues festivals and enjoys return bookings in leading Sydney & Canberra venues and popular pubs along the east coast of Australia

She has also performed in the USA at the 2004 International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee

"Fine and Mellow" - Once again, I've gotta give props to you artists down-under; always impressive. Classic blues lyrics and passionately delivered without spitting in my face. Whoever is tinkling the ivories has a great touch. Aint nothing wrong with this number. Pour me a martini, lemme groove on this for a while. Velvet touch, and creamy delivery in every aspect. Whew! Nice, very very nice. Do me righteous one day, and grace my site with your thoughts when you can. I'd be both appreciative and honored.

"MOney's Down" - Janet this one took me back to 40's "jive" music, very cool, laid back without unhooking from a real blues vibe, vocals reminded me at times of Bonnie Raitt. No expression or slur is wasted, but you dont overpower the groove. Excellent tasteful playing. Great use of dynamics - it's difficult to really get softer in a quick paced song, but you pulled it off nicely. I enjoyed this. Well done.
