Biography

I first started playing music in my teens, playing in bands from the mid eighties to the mid nineties. Having a family has seen me put down the guitar, but since discovering software recording and the internet, I've found an outlet for creativity that doesn't require me to go anywhere, lug gear etc. I love all music but when it comes to guitar, my playing is strongly influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Steve Vai, Jimmy Hendrix and assorted jazz and blues. My aim at the moment is to build up music for a band that I wish to put together in the future - when the kids are older.

Funk Out - you've really captured that old style funk guitar sound. The solo sound was very bluesy - I enjoyed the fade to the bass etc. Good tune. "Slink", had that Sanford & Son riff/theme riding high. Nice interpretation of it all. You can sure play that axe bro'. Well done, downright inspiring. I'll be sure to come back for more.

I have this on the speakers and I told my wife "this is one of the guys from mixposure" She said "I thought it was Steve Vai". Man what a real rocker you are.

Nice crunching guitar sound in the intro, then the Vai and vaughan influence kicks in. Great stuff, good luck with the band. just think of the learning curve you can go on in the mean time. The sky is the limit......kiss the sky!

As far as the tune, just great work and playing here. Nuff said.

Hi Robbo

Yeah, I'm Sydney based. I play the 1st Friday at the Mortdale Hotel (St George area, near Hurstville). It's basically a covers night but I throw in a few originals. Play from 8 till midnight.

Otherwise I do the odd acoustic open night at places like the Excelsior in Surrey Hills.

What about yourself? Let me know where you're based and interested in getting together. If you would like to come to the Mortdale and sit in one night let me know.

I live at Lugarno which is also in the St George area. If you're interested in getting together face to face give me a call on 0409 220683 or email me on selftort@hotmail.com.

I've been doing the 1-man band thing for about 8 years and as much as I love doing it and the freedom that it gives me, I still crave to play with real musicians.

Thanks for the support, mate. Hope to catch you soon.

Cheers

Brian

I like this "Somewhere Else". Nice riffs, I would like to know what you use to record with(software or unit). Very clean sound.

I can't believe that I didn't work out you were an aussie, Robbo. Although the site name should have been a give-away. Thanks for the great review of Six O'Clock Swill. If you're round Sydney way we should catch up some time.

Cheers

Brian
