Biography

ABOUT JACK LANGEVELT and THE MUSIC:

Jack was born on
the fifth of August 1954 in Rotterdam, Holland. In his early childhood he had warm feelings for classical music ( a.o. BACH, MOZART, CHOPIN). After hearing  Air (by EKSEPTION) he fell in love with the music of  RICK V/D LINDEN.

EKSEPTION, TRACE, THE NICE and EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER were his major influences. This Symphonic Music highlighted his favourite instruments: Hammond organ and piano.
After he had some piano lessons, he studied at the ROTTERDAM SCHOOL OF ARTS (1971). At the same time he started his musical career as a drummer in various groups and styles.
In 1980 he switched to his first love: keyboard playing in Symphonic Rock Music. He formed his own group SURVIVAL. With this group (1981-1997) he developed his ideas in his own compositions which were a synthesis of classical, rock and jazz music.
In 1997 SURVIVAL broke up. For two years Jack developed a more intuitive style of music, played and composed only by himself. The result was the album THE FINAL CHAPTER (1999). For the next two years he was occupied creating his own Recording Studio (BJT STUDIO'S). With this studio he saw no limitations anymore for creating, composing and producing his music on a level that was more to his satisfaction.
With the help of vocalist LINDA MAARSEVEEN and guitar players DAVID DEXTER (from the
UK), MARIO ROELOFSEN (Purple Rainbow) and JAN PETER EERENBERG (Thijs van Leer Band) he recorded more than 30 songs.

The album CRUSADER, released by MUSEA, is the final and uncompromised result of all this work.
No Final Chapter for the music of SURVIVAL!

New Album Crusader

'Changes' has a beautiful piano start, great vocals. You chose very good synth sounds to compliment the vocals; great keyboard work; organ, a really nice build up, a really good vocal tone range in the progression, wonderful arranging; good guitar groove, -just moves so nice, making it so enjoyable.
What a voice & a fab composing to give the singing it's best effort forward; soaring expressive guitar playing; a very sweet change to a more gentle tone. Absolutely SUPERB!!****
Great song; refreshingly alive with expression.
-Your friend & fan also. -Vesa.

Dramatic appealling mood ( a soundtrack it would be excellent for) It brings on visions; must then be good & it is . A very wonderful orchestrated piece; well arranged produced. What a fine mix.

I'll be There' -pulls me in right off the top with that smooth expressive tasteful guitar playing. What a lovely female vocals; great combination; a jazzy rock feel; good lyrics sung with much feeling.
This is a great sound mix. Gotta love that bass, & also the other elements fit in so well to not overpower the singing.A very emotive top notch song.
Love it. Nice to hear for a early Canadian morning.
EXCELLENT artistry.(Been to Holland many times; wonderful place)
Your new fan & friend. -Vesa.

WELCOME TO IMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
I CANīT BELIEVE YOU HAVENīT RECEIVED ANY REVIEWS ON YOUR SONGS. :(
I LISTENED AND REVIEWED 2 OF YOUR TRACKS, AND ITīS QUALITY STUFF.
I THINK MORE PEOPLE NEED TO LOOK BEYOND JUST REVIEWING THEIR CLIQUE OF FRIENDS, AND MEET NEW ARTISTS, AND HEAR NEW MUSIC.
THEY MIGHT LEARN SOMETHING. :)
ANYWAY, NICE TO MEET YOU.
